MultiLing acknowledges the synergistic relationship we have with the communities in which we do business and with the broader world community. We are involved in “giving back” to those communities in the following ways:
- MultiLing’s Peru office was invited by three schools to participate in holiday festivities as well as hand out treats and toys to the children. Click here for pictures and the full details..
- MultiLing has donated to the Perpetual Education Fund every year for the last five years to help low income students in the United States and other countries get a college or technical degree.
- MultiLing has set up a partnership with universities located near its headquarters in Provo, Utah: Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University. Through this partnership MultiLing is educating the students in the language departments about career opportunities in the translation industry as well as offering internships to high-performing students. In 2010 MultiLing donated more than 300 product licenses of its Fortis® program to the BYU linguistics program. Fortis helps students to translate texts more accurately and quickly.
- MultiLing Corporation is proud to sponsor The Summer Reading Program organized by the Provo City Library, which promotes the goal of establishing regular daily habits of reading in teens and adults.
- MultiLing’s Peru office supports its community by donating to the local home for the elderly, the local school for children with special needs, and the Switzerland Hospital Foundation. It recently sponsored the first prize in a drawing competition at a community high school.
- MultiLing Corporation is proud to sponsor Translators Without Borders, a non-profit organization that provides linguistic support in the wake of natural and man-made disasters to NGOs (non-government organizations)such as Médecins sans Frontières, Médecins du Monde, Action Against Hunger, and Handicap International.
- After the March 2011 earthquake and Tsunami in Japan, MultiLing matched dollar for dollar any donations made by its employees to the relief effort. MultiLing has made similar contributions to other relief efforts such as the one for the victims of the Haiti earthquake in January 2010.
- For the 2011 Christmas season, MultiLing USA sponsored two teenage girls listed on the Giving Tree at Utah Community Credit Union. Employees from each department took on a different item from the girls’ wish lists, including clothing, boots, an MP3 player, The Hunger Games books, and makeup. Once the shopping was done, two of the teams wrapped the gifts for the credit union, delivering them in time for Christmas. It wasn’t much of a sacrifice when tackled as a team, but it was a great way to give our employees an opportunity to give back this holiday season. View the UCCU blog for more information on the Giving Tree project.
