OREM

• The Central Utah Water Conservancy District, Central Utah Gardens and Orem City have planned an Arbor Day Celebration for Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the gardens, 355 W. University Parkway. The program will include an Arbor Day play by elementary school students from Cherry Hill Elementary, a presentation of the Tree City USA award, music, tree planting and refreshments.

PROVO

• Today, MultiLing Corporation, www.multiling.com, is celebrating 20 years in business with various presentations and an open house that will start at 11 a.m. at MultiLing headquarters, 86 N. University Ave., third floor.

Provo Mayor Lewis Billings and a representative from Gov. Jon Huntsman's office will speak briefly and then a fair will start at noon. High school students at the fair will offer creative presentations about different countries. Members of the crowd will have to guess which country they are representing. The best team and their sponsoring teacher will win $1,000.

MultiLing Corporation is an international company headquartered in Provo. It offers translation services to large organizations.

• A free home maintenance class will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Habitat for Humanity of Utah County ReStore, 626 N. Freedom Blvd.

The class is geared toward first time homebuyers and will be about interior painting, interior wall repair, leaky roof repair and home warranties. The class is one in a series, offered in its entirety every five months. No registration is required.

Those who complete the entire course will receive a step-by-step manual and a completion certificate.

SPANISH FORK

• Local students are hosting an auction in Spanish Fork on Saturday to raise money to bring a severely burned Romanian boy to the United States for treatment.

BYU students Ashley Ludlow and Jessica Free met Marius Vasile Dasianu in January while volunteering at a Romanian hospital. Dasianu, 9, was injured in a November 2007 fire that killed both of his parents and left him with devastating burns over 75 percent of his body.

Dasianu has been officially accepted for treatment by Shriners Hospitals for Children.

However, team members are still trying to raise money to cover a number of other expenses involved in the process. Shriners doctors estimate Dasianu could need up to eight years of treatment.

The auction will be at the Primrose Retreat Day Spa, 978 E. Expressway Lane, in Spanish Fork from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
