SALT LAKE CITY, Utah–April 19, 2017–MultiLing, the world’s premier provider of intellectual property language translation and support services, today announced that it has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, the internationally recognized set of quality management standards from the International Organization of Standardization (ISO). At the same time, the company has also achieved ISO 17100:2015 certification, the ISO standard specifically designed for language services providers.
MultiLing had previously achieved both the ISO 9001:2008 and the EN 15038 certifications. With these new quality certifications officially in place, MultiLing has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that its clients receive consistently high quality translation services across the globe, for more than 200 unique language pair combinations.
“MultiLing serves some of the world’s most sophisticated and demanding patent filers,” said Jeremy Coombs, Vice President of Operations at MultiLing. “Our clients need, and expect, that every translation will be accurate. Earning the most current ISO certifications for both ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 provides our clients with a great deal of confidence that MultiLing adheres to the rigorous standards set forth by ISO, follows consistent processes around the world and delivers exceptional quality to its clients.”
ISO 9001:2015 Certification
With a focus on risk management, the ISO 9001:2015 certification required a rigorous review of MultiLing’s business and quality processes. Importantly, this new 9001 certification places additional emphasis on cybersecurity practices. In March 2017, Orion Assessment Services (Orion) completed a thorough audit of all of MultiLing’s practices, documenting that the company’s “plan-do-check-act” methodology:
- Ensures strict cybersecurity protocols.
- Proactively addresses potential risks
- Captures customer feedback
- Tracks the qualifying and training of employees and vendors
MultiLing received the ISO 9001:2015 certification on March 16, 2017.
ISO 17100:2015 Certification
ISO 17100:2015 is the most current ISO quality certification available, designed specifically for translation service providers. Replacing the EN 15038 certification that MultiLing previously earned, ISO 17100 ensures consistent delivery of quality translation. MultiLing was assessed by Orion on the following factors, specifically in reference to translation service:
- Client satisfaction
- Personnel and technical resources
- Quality control
- Project management
- Client contract parameters
- Management methods for providing service
MultiLing received the ISO 17100:2015 certification on March 13, 2017.
To maintain both ISO certifications, MultiLing will initiate regular compliance audits and demonstrate continual improvement.
“As a result of MultiLing certifying both our translation process and our quality management system, clients can be confident that MultiLing will always provide them with the high quality service they have come to expect now and in the future,” Coombs added.
